Volunteer Opportunities
Please consider donating an hour or more of your time a week. We could really use the help!
The Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society relies on volunteers of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and levels of experience to accomplish its mission to document, preserve, and interpret local history.
Volunteer experiences at the Society range from on-site activities, such as staffing of the library and the reception/exhibit area, museum cataloging, scanning photographs, and data-entry, to off-site ones such as guiding walking tours, presenting programs to local groups, and participating in the annual Spirit Walk.
Volunteering can be a regular weekly commitment, or can involve specific, activities like the Spirit Walk, or researching and creating an exhibit or a short article for the newsletter on a particular piece of local history. Volunteers are also needed to conduct oral history interviews.
