The first image is the former home of General Archer Vandegrift (114) and also the home at 112 East High Street.

The second image is the parking lot of the First Methodist Church, which had these two houses removed in 1961 for expansion.

In A.A. Vandegrift’s book “Once a Marine” it states that his address was 112 E. High Street. Thank you for posting these pictures. I enjoyed seeing them after reading his book.
