Westhaven, completed around 1964,was a HUD project OF URBAN RENEWAL and housed many of the residents who were displaced from the Vinegar Hill neighborhood and areas such as Cox’s Row. Hence, locals then and now refer to this neighborhood as simply “THE JECKS”!
