The material mostly relates to Mary Norris Rawlings (1873-1960; daughter of Helen Carter Watson and Reverend James Minor Rawlings), Velora Ames Carver (married to James Rawlings Thompson, the nephew of Mary Rawlings), and Marjorie Dunham Carver (sister of Velora). Miss Rawlings founded the Charlottesville Civic League and the Albemarle County Historical Society, and published several short stories under the name of Minor Watson.
