Biographical/Historical Information: Irene Vivian Ashworth (1897-1997) was born in Wise County, Virginia. She married Vinton Hope Valentine (1889-1968) of Charlottesville, Virginia in 1920, and lived the rest of her life in Charlottesville.
Scope and Content: This is the typescript memoir of Glimpses Back over 85 1/2 Years by Irene Ashworth Valentine, written 2 August 1982. Valentine recollects her family's history in Wise County, Virginia, her childhood and family life, her life and family in Charlottesville, and her travels.
