Biographical/Historical Information: Benjamin Marshall (1760-1840) served under the command of Capt. Thomas Martin and Lieut. Brackenridge in Albemarle County, Va. in the Spring of 1781. He served eighteen months under Martin. A size roll compiled at Chesterfield Courthouse lists Benj. Marshal, age 20, height 5'8", brown hair, grey eyes, dark complexion, farmer, born in Calvert County MD, residing in Albemarle County where he enlisted as a substitute on 20 Mar 1871.
