Mary Oakley Hay (1873-1965) spent the last decade of her life in Charlottesville. She was known for her volunteer and social work, especially for children.
James Hollis Rinehart (1871-1942) brought his family to Albemarle County and Charlottesville from Covington, Virginia. The Rinehart family owned thousands of acres and owned multiple buildings in Charlottesville, which they rented out.
The Quarles family have been prominent members of Albemarle County and surrounding counties since the 1700s.
