Biographical/Historical Information: This is a survey of literary works focused on Albemarle County, Virginia.
Scope and Content: A pre-publication typescript of “Albemarle In Imaginative Literature: A Survey of Fiction, Poetry, and Drama from the Albemarle Bookshelf;” by Douglas W. Tanner. This was later published in the Magazine of Albemarle County History, Vol. 32, 1974. The essay discusses fiction and poetry concerning the Albemarle County area from books, many which are out of print, found at the University of Virginia library and the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library. Included is an annotated list of works on Albemarle in fiction, poetry, and drama.
