Biographical/Historical Information: Alice Saunders Dabney Parker (1912-2007) was born in Charlottesville, Va., to R. Heath Dabney and Lily Davis. Her family was entwined with the history of the University of Virginia. Alice Dabney Parker was a collateral descendant of Thomas Jefferson's sister Martha. Her great-grandfather, John A.G. Davis, was a chairman of the University faculty and was shot dead on the Lawn by a student. Another of her great-grandfathers was James E. Heath, founder of Phi Beta Kappa. Her older brother Virginius Dabney was an editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Scope and Content: Bound typescript: Eugene Davis - A Biographical Sketch and Letters of the Davis and Morris Families, 1824-1893; selected and edited by Alice Dabney Parker. The manuscript includes a family tree of Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph (parents of Thomas Jefferson) and their connection to Alice Dabney Parker, a list of the children of John A.G. Davis and Mary Jane Terrell Davis, and the Caryswood family.
