Biographical/Historical Information: "Some say that he [William Norris] was born in Lancaster County, on the Northern Neck of Va. about 1750 and that he was the son of John Norris and Jane Camel (Cammell). He later moved to Richmond County and then to Albemarle where he raised a large family and became the "grandsire" of the Norris lines whose history is presented in this record" (quoted from introduction to William Norris in Some Descendants).
Scope and Content: This is a photocopy of the manuscript Some Descendants of William Norris of Albemarle County, Virginia, 1750-1819 "A Family Record" by Thomas Fendol Norris, Jr. It gives a history of the Norris family in Albemarle County and included family group sheets. It also contains data on the related Harris family of Albemarle County, circa 1790.
