Biographical/Historical Information: James S. Leitch (1848-1892) was the son of James A. Leitch (1814-1862) and Louisiana Poore (1820-1897). He married Nannie Carver on 28 September 1875. He was a printer and the manager of the Charlottesville Book Bindery.
Scope and Content: This is a collection of papers of James S. Leitch of Charlottesville, Virginia.

The collection is divided into three folders:
Folder 1: Most of the items in this folder concern the military equipment for the Monticello Guard during the 1880s. Also included is a student handbook, 1886-1887, for the University of Virginia, published by the YMCA.
Folder 2: Receipts for James S. Leitch. 6 items.
