Biographical/Historical Information: Maria Louisa Magruder was born on 3 July 1877. She married James Oscar Thurman on 18 November 1918. Maria lived in Edgmont all her life and died on 8 June 1947.

Scope and Content: This collection contains one original recipe book and a transcription copy of the recipe book. The recipe book includes handwritten baking and cooking recipes; newspaper clippings on various homemaker tips on cleaning clothes, removing stains, and additional published recipes; and notes on family members birthdates at the back of the book.
