Biographical/Historical Information: The Piedmont Female Institute (1854-1902) was a boarding and day school in Charlottesville, Va. The program of studies consisted of English, spelling, reading, writing, arithmetic, natural and metal philosophy, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Greek, algebra and geometry, instrumental music, and drawing.

Scope and Content: This collection consists of two slides and printout of the photographs on the slides. There are partial identification of students.
