Biographical/Historical Information: Benjamin Marshall (1760-1840) served under the command of Captain Thomas Martin and Lieutenant Brackenridge in Albemarle County, Virginia in the Spring of 1781. He served eighteen months under Martin. A size roll compiled at Chesterfield Courthouse lists Benjamin Marshal, age 20, height 5'8", brown hair, grey eyes, dark complexion, farmer, born in Calvert County Maryland, residing in Albemarle County where he enlisted as a substitute in 1781.
